- When parents practice Reiki, they create space for teenagers to open up
- When teenagers practice Reiki, it helps them manage the overwhelm and resist peer pressure
- Reiki healing sessions can help in the short term as well
Teenage years are when the offspring seeks the freedom of an adult but has the accountability of a child. This can be a tumultuous time filled with emotional ups and downs, challenging behaviours, and struggles with self-regulation.
However, Reiki brings about a transformation in this phase, bringing balance, inner peace, and improved relationships. Reiki can calm teenagers, reduce tantrums, foster better relationships with parents, and enhance discipline, self-regulation, and academic sincerity.
Calming the Teenage Mind:
The overstimulation of the mind that is the trademark of our times put a particularly intense pressure on the sensitive teenage mind. The hormonal changes, academic pressures, social dynamics, and self-discovery can contribute to stress, anxiety, and emotional turbulence. Reiki brings about harmony on the mental level, helping them use all these pressures to build resilience and succeed rather than to feel bogged down.
Reducing Tantrums and Emotional Outbursts:
Teenagers can experience emotions very intensely, and this can be difficult to manage. Reiki helps them diffuse tension, release pent-up emotions, and cultivate emotional regulation and self-control.
Improving Relationships with Parents:
Strong and healthy parent-teen relationships are essential for navigating the teenage years successfully. Reiki can help bridge the communication gap between teenagers and parents, fostering empathy, understanding, and mutual respect. Through Reiki healing, both parents and teenagers can release negative emotions, heal past wounds, and cultivate deeper connections based on love, compassion, and open communication.
They Can Focus On What Matters:
When not being overwhelmed by raging hormones, academic stresses and tension in relationships, teenagers are left with the space and energy to focus on what does matter. Teenagers who practice Reiki are naturally more disciplined and have more self-control and focus, leading to improved academic performance, increased motivation, and a sincere commitment to their studies.
How?
As a Reiki master, I have seen transformations both ways, i.e. when parents of teenagers learn Reiki, as well as when teenagers learn Reiki.
- The harmony and transformation is the deepest when parent/s and teen practice Reiki self-healing daily.
- When one or both parents learn and practice Reiki, it improves the relationship and gives the child the support they need, but on a personal level they might still struggle.
- When only the child learns and practices Reiki, it helps the child be self-motivated but relationship with parent can still be a problem.
- Receiving hands-on or distant Reiki healing can help them tide over difficulties and also help tremendously with focus, memory and performance during exams.
Finally…
Teenage is synonymous with words like tantrums, hormonal swings, and difficulties. But it really doesn’t have to be this way. Time after time, we see harmonious, happy families with the effect of Reiki. Reiki helps teenagers and their families navigate the challenges of adolescence with grace, resilience, and self-awareness, laying the foundation for a bright and promising future.
