Anita Moorjani’s story is one of profound transformation, healing, and spiritual awakening. Born in Singapore to Indian parents, Anita grew up in a traditional Hindu household, where she was taught to adhere to cultural and religious beliefs.
Nearly Dead
In 2002, (at Hong Kong) at the age of 32, Anita was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a form of cancer. Over the next four years, she underwent numerous treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and alternative therapies, but her condition continued to deteriorate. On 2 Feb, 2006, Anita’s body was ravaged by cancer, and she was on the verge of death.
Miraculous Recovery
During her final hours, Anita went into coma for 30 hours, she experienced a profound near-death experience (NDE) that would change her life forever. Anita Moorjani’s near-death experience included an out-of-body experience, this had a profound impact on her recovery from stage 1A Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
After waking from her coma, Moorjani’s tumors shrank by about 70% within four days, and within five weeks, she was cancer-free and released from the hospital. She had to spend a few months in physiotherapy to regain her strength and the use of all her muscles and limbs. Moorjani remains cancer-free to this day 2
Anita Moorjani’s collaboration with medical professionals and researchers has been instrumental in furthering the understanding of near-death experiences (NDEs) and their profound impacts on individuals’ lives. Her work, particularly through her near-death experience (NDE) and subsequent recovery from stage 1A Hodgkin’s lymphoma, has garnered significant attention in both medical and psychological research communities.
Out of Body Experience:
Before she slipped into a coma, her lungs were full of fluid. Her skin was full of lesions, and toxins were oozing out of them. On February 2nd, 2006, her organs had shut down. It is when doctors told her husband and family that she had only a few more hours to live.
She says that though she was lying down in a coma, she was aware of everything that was going on around her. She could feel what her husband was feeling, and she could feel her brother, who was in India and was rushing to catch a flight to be with her before she breathed her last. It was as if she had expanded out of her body. She was aware of her physical body, but she was no longer attached to that body. She felt as though she could be everywhere at the same time. Wherever she put her awareness, there she was. She felt surrounded by incredible love.
Then she also became aware of her father and her best friend, who had died a few years ago, who told her it was not her time to die.
She felt that in that reality, she had tremendous clarity, and she could understand everything. She understood why she had cancer. She felt connected to everybody. She could understand the real purpose of her coming into life.
She says at first she did not want to go back to her body because the body was so sick and dying. But in the next instant, she realized that because now she understands the cause of her cancer and knows what she knows if she went back to her body, it would heal quickly. Her father and her friend told her that now you know the truth of who you are go back and live your life fearlessly. LIsten to Anita, she is amazing..
Anita’s most profound lessons from her out of body experience:
1. She realized that one of the reasons she got cancer was because she didn’t love herself. So loving yourself is as important as loving others.
2. Live life fearlessly. People in this world teach us to fear. People think that fear keeps you safe, but that’s not true, it is love that keeps you safe.
3. Humor, laughter, and joy are very significant in life. If we laugh more, we would have fewer people with the illness. You will need fewer hospitals and fewer prisons as well.
4. Life is a gift. Most of us live life as if life is a chore. Even the challenges that come to you are a gift.
5. The most important thing for you is, to always be yourself. Embrace your uniqueness.
